Petrolimex (PLX), Vietnam’s biggest fuel distributor, on June 20 cut the retail price of RON 92 gasoline for the first time since early March, by VND340 or 2% a liter; but it keeps raising prices of diesel oils, kerosene and fuel oil at the same time.
As a result, RON 92 gasoline is now retailed at VND16,160 a liter at Petrolimex’s filling stations.
The prices of diesel oils and kerosene, meanwhile, were hiked by VND390 and VND370 to VND12,290 and VND10,660 a liter, respectively. A kilo of fuel oil is priced at VND9,140, up VND350.
In Vietnam, fuel price hikes have to be at least 15 days apart, according to a rule that was introduced in 2014.
